Muscat: The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) will host two special evenings of classical music with the celebrated Palestinian ensemble Trio Joubran.
Trio Joubran is a group founded by three brothers, Samir, Wissam, and Adnan, notably famous for their collaborations with the great Palestinian poet, the late Mahmoud Darwish.
Darwish chose Trio Joubran to give musical voice to his poets and wouldn’t work with any other musicians. In 2018, the trio collaborated with Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters for two of the tracks on their latest album, drawing inspiration from the words of Mahmoud Darwish.
The brothers are fourth generation oud artists, exhibiting a skill and connection with the oud borne of generations of commitment to this ancient instrument. Accompanying percussionist, Youssef Hbeisch, joins the ensemble to draw out the voice of classical oud playing.
Sought after worldwide, Trio Joubran will perform two concerts, exploring songs from their acclaimed albums.
Their artistry carries a noble message of Palestinian identity to listeners from around the world. The concerts will take place at the Royal Opera Howwuse of Musical Arts on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 February at 7pm.
