Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,607.48 points, up by 0.06% from previous close. The Shariah Index ended up by 0.75% at 445.21 points.
Oman Education & Training, up 9.94 percent, was the top gainer while, Al Suwadi Power, down 9.09 percent, was the top loser. Shares of Sembcorp Salalah were the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Oman Telecom were the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 806 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR4.82 million, with more than 19.55 million shares changing hands. Out of 47 traded securities, 16 advanced, 13 declined, and 18 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR309,000 while foreign investors were net sellers for OMR234,000, followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR75,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,468.04 points, up 0.39 percent. Prices of Takaful Oman, Muscat Insurance, Oman Arab Bank, Al Anwar Investment, Bank Muscat were up by 6.38 percent, 5.71 percent, 4.00 percent, 1.39 percent, 0.75 percent respectively. Prices of OMINVEST, National Bank Oman were down by 0.44 percent, 0.36 percent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,473.90 points, down 0.73 percent. Prices of Gulf Mushroom Products, Galfar Engineering, Oman Packaging were up by 2.62 percent, 1.29 percent, 0.49 percent respectively. Prices of A’Saffa Foods, Jazeera Steel Products, Oman Flour Mills were down by 5.80 percent, 4.15 percent, 0.41 percent respectively.
Services Index was down by 0.03 percent before closing at 1,562.01 points. Prices of Oman Education & Training, Abraj Energy, OIFC, National Gas, OQ Gas Networks were up by 9.94 percent, 2.60 percent, 2.41 percent, 1.28 percent, 0.68 percent respectively.
Prices of Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power, Barka Water & Power Company, Phoenix Power, Al Jazeera Services were down by 9.09 percent, 4.76 percent, 2.33 percent, 1.85 percent, 0.48 percent respectively.
