Jalan bani Bu Hassan: Nearly 300,000 people watched the activities of the Tahayem Winter Season organised by the South Al Sharqiyah Governorate in cooperation with a number of government and private agencies.
The function was held at 18 recreational sites in the Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Hassan, which witnessed the influx of visitors wishing to enjoy the distinct winter atmosphere and events.
The season presented quality events and activities, numbering 41 that varied relating to heritage, entertainment, tourism, culture and sports, in addition to a group of performances, competitions, poetry and singing evenings.
The season’s activities included those for children, which included interactive artistic and entertainment shows, competitions and juggling shows, and competitions to discover their artistic talents, in addition to a special event for women, where a day of the season was allocated to give them privacy and enjoy the events and activities.
The season’s activities also included poetry evenings and folk songs in which a number of Omani and Gulf poets participated.
A number of performances, including those by folklore groups, artistic paintings of traditional folk arts, display of skills, theatre and cartoon characters, and interactive events with the public, were also showcased.
Many exhibitions and corners were held in which more than 18 groups participated, including the International Dates and Honey Exhibition organised by the Ministry of Agricultural Wealth, Fisheries and Water Resources, the interactive corner of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and the heritage village, which included a number of corners including the Artisans Corner and the Bedouin Environment Tent, the Omani Culinary Arts Corner and the Samat and Traditions Events, the Folklore Arts Square and the Popular Games Arena, the local market corner for productive families and small and medium enterprises, the dining area with a corner for restaurants, and the Omani Culinary Arts Corner which includes kiosks for Omani food and drinks.
Children had a gala time at the smart corner, face painting, the sand play area, the little explorer and children’s stories, entertainment arena for camel and horse riding, the sand bike circuit, the children’s electronic games, the electronic games and virtual reality “VR” technology corner, the creativity and innovation corner, and the association’s astronomy camp.
The weekend’s activities witnessed a package of recreational, heritage, cultural and sporting activities, in addition to events and specialised corners that the organising committee sought to ensure their diversity.
