Oman's hotel revenues soar by 23.4% to OMR229.2mn

Muscat: The revenue of 3-5 star hotels in the Sultanate of Oman by the end of 2023 recorded a surge of 23.4 per cent to stand at OMR229,256,000 compared to the same period in 2022 when it stood at OMR185,772,000, according to the latest data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

Statistics indicate that this rise is attributed to the increase in the total number of hotel guests by 27.1 per cent to stand at 2,071,169 guests by the end of 2023 compared to 2,629,205 by the end of 2022, with an occupancy rate of 8.8 per cent.

Omani guests constituted 10 per cent to stand at 769,790. The number of GCC guests increased by 23.8 per cent to stand at 198,489, followed by the European guests which surged by 43.6 per cent to stand at 517,278.

The number of guests from the two American continents stood at 57,752, while the number of guests from the African continent stood at 11,670, comprising a rise of 29.2 per cent. The number of Asian guests increased by 35.2 per cent to reach 297,270.

Meanwhile, the number of guests from Oceania surged by 133.8 per cent to stand at 44,726.
