Over 40 expats arrested in Oman

Muscat: More than 40 expats have been arrested in the Wilayat of Nizwa, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate for violating Labour Laws, the Ministry of Labour (Mol), said.

A statement issued online by Mol said, "The Ministry of Labour, represented by the Office of the Joint Inspection Team in the General Directorate of Labour in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, in cooperation with the Police Command in the Governorate and the Municipality of Nizwa, carried out an inspection campaign on Friday evening on worker gatherings and street vendors in the Wilayat of Nizwa. A number of (43) workers were arrested in violation of the provisions of the Labour Law."

"The Legal measures are being taken against the violators," the statement added.
