Indian nationals topped the list of passengers travelling through Muscat International Airport in March

Muscat: Indian nationals topped the list of passengers travelling through Muscat International Airport during the month of March, with the number of arrivals reaching 79,810 and 77,646 departures, followed by Bangladeshi nationals with 14,469 arrivals and 20,909 departures. The Pakistani nationals came third with 24,097 arrivals and 20,191 departures, according to the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The number of passengers travelling through the Sultanate of Oman airports increased by 16.8 percent by the end of March 2024, recording 3,840,354 passengers, compared to 3,287,015 passengers at the end of March 2023.

Preliminary statistics issued by the NCSI showed that the number of passengers travelling through Muscat International Airport reached 3,482,325, an increase of 17.7 percent. They travelled on 25,204 flights, with an increase in the number of flights by 13.8 percent by the end of March 2024.

Among the flights were 23,237 international flights on which 3,232,076 passengers travelled, and 1,967 domestic flights on which 250,249 passengers travelled.

The number of passengers travelling through Salalah Airport reached 325,035, an increase of 6.7 percent. They travelled on 2,288 flights, an increase of 4.8 percent. The number of international flights through Salalah Airport reached 1,218, carrying 162,651 passengers, while the number of domestic flights reached 1,070, carrying 162,384 passengers.

The number of passengers travelling through Sohar Airport reached 17,462 on 154 flights, while the number of passengers travelling through Duqm Airport reached 15,532 on 156 flights.
