Salalah: HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar, held a meeting in his office in the Wilayat of Salalah yesterday with Mohammed Ali Yasser, Governor of Al Mahra in the Republic of Yemen, who is currently visiting the Sultanate of Oman.
HH Sayyid Marwan welcomed the Governor of Al Mahra and commended the deep-rooted historical ties and social bonds between peoples of Oman and Yemen.
HH Sayyid Marwan stressed the importance of the meeting in consolidating areas of joint cooperation between the two sides.
He added that the two sides laid emphasis on realising their peoples’ aspirations for security, stability and exchange of benefits, including the electrical interconnection project and other development projects.
For his part, the Governor of Al Mahra expressed the appreciation of the Yemeni government and people for the support extended to Yemen by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman through Oman Charitable Organisation (OCO).
This support covered developmental and humanitarian aspects and benefited the Yemeni people in general and Al Mahra Governorate in particular, he said, noting that it is a gesture that reflects fraternity and good neighbourliness.
The Governor of Al Mahra added that Yemen is looking forward to more cooperation and support, notably amid exceptional circumstances prevailing in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by Mohsin Ali Mohammed Balhaf, General Manager of Al Mahra Oil Company’s branch in Yemen, and officials from both sides. -ONA
