Oman's former minister, adviser to late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos passes away

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has lost a great man and an enlightened mind, His Excellency Abdul Aziz bin Mohammed Al Rawas, the former adviser to the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for Cultural Affairs passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024. 

His Excellency Al Rawas passed away at the age of 79, after a career full of national cultural and intellectual giving.
His Excellency Al Rawas held the position of Minister of Information and Youth Affairs between 1979 and 1982, then the position of Minister of Information between 1982 and 2001.

He then worked as Adviser to Sultan Qaboos for Cultural Affairs during the reign of the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said, and continued in his position during the reign of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik  until he retired in April 2020.

HE Al Rawas was born in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, and graduated from Al Saidiya School in Salalah, and held many positions.
