Residents complain of foul smell in Sinaw; authority issues clarification

Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA) has clarified about the bad smell emanating from a farm in the Wilayat of Sinaw, North Al Sharqiyah Governorate. 

The Authority has confirmed that it had previously issued a seizure report against the farm due to the discharge of pollutants into the surrounding environment. The matter is being investigated and will be referred to the competent court. 

EA said in a statement :"The Environment Authority has followed up on what has been circulated about the bad smells emanating from a farm in the Wilayat of Sinaw. It appreciates the keenness of citizens and their communication and their efforts to preserve the Omani environment." 

The Authority has called on everyone to comply with environmental laws and regulations.
