SME authority organises third dialogue session in health sector

Muscat: The Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (ASMED) today organised a third dialogue session in the health sector.

ASMED seeks to achieve a number of objectives: Improve the business environment and its attractiveness to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), contribute to developing supportive policies, encourage entrepreneurs to present innovative ideas for upgrading economic sectors and explore promising opportunities.

The session, titled “Enhancing SME Investment in the Health Sector,” saw an overview of statistics about the future of investment in the health sector.

As many as 2,363 SMEs were registered in the ASMED's health sector records by the end of October 2024.

Statistics also point to the existence of 1,908 microenterprises, 398 thousand SMEs and 57 medium-sized enterprises.

The dialogue session was attended by Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Health Minister, Halima Rashid Al Zari, Chairperson of ASMED, Dr Fatima Mohammed al AjmiaasUndersecretaryof theMinistryofHealthfor the Administrative and Financial Affairs, Khalid bin Salim Al GhamariasUndersecretaryof theMinistryofLabourforLabour, and Eng. Badr Salim Al Maamari, Secretary General of the Tender Board,as well as owners of small and medium enterprises operating in health sector activities and related activities.
