Kuwait: On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, HH Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers headed the Sultanate of Oman’s delegation at the 45th GCC Summit, which was held on Sunday at Bayan Palace in the State of Kuwait.
Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, delivered a speech in his capacity as Chairman of the current GCC summit, reading as follows:
“The Gulf Cooperation Council embodies a splendid representation of unity and a brilliant manifestation of the strength of union, cohesion and integration. It denotes an authentic reflection of our firm conviction in the need to consolidate joint GCC action for the sake of keeping pace with challenges arising from the accelerated pace of regional and international events and their repercussions and to upgrade areas of cooperation to meet the aspirations of our peoples."
Al Sabah added that, though more than four decades have elapsed since the establishment of the Gulf Cooperation Council, the GCC remains steadfast in its unity, firm in its positions, solid in its will and resolute in its quest to establish the pillars of international security and peace.
Al Sabah underscored the GCC’s unwavering historical position supporting the brotherly Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to end the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian land, gain all their political rights and establish their own independent state on their land within the 1967 borders, with Al Quds A'Sharqiyah (East Jerusalem) as its capital, in accordance with international references, laws and resolutions.
Meanwhile, HH Sayyid Fahd delivered a speech at the session reading as follows: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
