Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,569.60 points, down by 0.19% from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.64% at 418.14 points. Majan Glass was the top gainer while, Al Suwadi Power was the top loser. Shares of OQEP were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 903 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.95 million, with more than 11.04 million shares changing hands.
Out of 47 traded securities, 17 advanced, 13 declined, and 17 remained unchanged.
At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR495,000 while foreign investors were net buyers for OMR348,000, followed by GCC & Arab investors for OMR147,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 7,714.02 points, up 0.08%. Prices of Oman United Insurance, United Finance, Al Madina Takaful, Bank Nizwa, Bank Muscat were up by 6.52%, 3.57%, 1.25%, 1.03%, 0.79% respectively.
Prices of Al Anwar Investment, Sohar International Bank, Oman & Emirates Investment were down by 1.49%, 1.46%, 1.39% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,257.89 points, up 0.04%. Prices of Majan Glass, Oman Chromite, Oman Fisheries, Oman Cement were up by 100.00%, 5.24%, 2.94%, 1.33% respectively. Prices of Voltamp Energy, Al Maha Ceramics, Oman Cables Industry were down by 2.50%, 1.54%, 0.40% respectively.
Services Index was down by 0.85% before closing at 1,740.63 points. Prices of National Gas, Barka Water & Power Company, Oman Oil Marketing, Abraj Energy, Oman Telecom were up by 6.41%, 3.90%, 2.86%, 0.73%, 0.11% respectively.
Prices of Al Suwadi Power, Al Batinah Power, Oman National Engineering, OQ Gas Networks, Renaissance Services were down by 9.09%, 9.09%, 4.88%, 0.75%, 0.53% respectively.
