Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,548.18 points, down by 0.51% from previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.42% at 417.41 points. Sembcorp Salalah, up 1.05%, was the top gainer while, Shell Oman Marketing, down 9.87%, was the top loser. Shares of OQEP were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 665 trades were executed during the day’s trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.81 million, with more than 21.58 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 1 advanced, 29 declined, and 16 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net sellers for OMR98,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR91,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR7,000 worth of shares.

Services Index was down by 0.62% before closing at 1,721.83 points. Prices of Sembcorp Salalah were up by 1.05% respectively. Prices of Shell Oman Marketing, National Gas, Oman National Engineering, SMN Power Holding, Dhofar Generating were down by 9.87%, 3.85%, 3.39%, 2.02%, 1.56% respectively.
