Muscat: Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science yesterday announced in a press conference the names of winners of Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition (32nd edition).
The first winners in each category were announced as follows: Younis Abdullah Al Majfrifi in Level 1 for memorizing the entire Holy Quran; Ibrahim Said Al Sawafi in Level 2 for memorizing 24 consecutive parts of the Holy Quran; Mohammed Khalfan Al Ghuzaili in Level 3 for memorising 18 consecutive parts; Maisam Ahmed Al Habsi in Level 4 for memorizing 12 consecutive parts; Jinan Yaqoub Al Shabibi in Level 5 for memorizing 6 consecutive parts; Said Salim Al Wahaibi in Level 6 for memorizing 4 consecutive parts and Wid Khalid Al Maamari in Level 7 for memorizing 2 consecutive parts.
The competition is aimed at encouraging Omanis to memorise the Holy Quran and pursue the guidance of its teachings, in addition to enhancing the presence of Oman in international Qur’anic contests.
