Natsukashii - A fond memory of the past
Natsukashii is a Japanese word that means happy nostalgia, it is the moment in which you look back at your memories that fills your heart with sweetness.
Through her book Natsukashii, the poet invites her readers on a journey of remembering love through all its intimately wonderful colours.
The book is a celebration of lost love, in all the painful and sometimes forgotten spaces it occupies in our lives as days of mourning turn to lifetimes enriched by the experience of having loved.
That losing love can be heart-wrenching and soul-crushing and still leave us richer in how we perceive nature, seasons and life after it has passed.
The poet Priyamvada, learned to write of love through the elements of nature. From the vermilion of rising sun to thee auburns and burgundies of maple leaves , from moonlit foamy waves on calm beaches to the monsoon rains that transform dry summers to a lush green carpet , from the grey chill of winter to the joy of Wordsworthian spring.
The poet, who did her masters in English literature from SOAS, University of London, informs readers that they will find love personified in all the shades of creation in the poems.
The collections are homage of love through its hues of desires union and lost dreams.
The poet believes that the poems will stir the passion of love of readers which might have slipped from their memories.
