Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion reviewed the National Program for Private Sector and Foreign Trade Development “Nazdaher”.
The ministry also reviewed the efforts to foster growth and development of the trade and industry sectors and support and develop the business and investment environment.
This took place during the meeting held by Khalid Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council and members of the Council, with Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion.
The Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion underscored during the visual presentation the importance of the meetings and visual presentations provided by government institutions to the members of the Council to introduce the efforts made in those institutions. He explained that this approach comes within the framework of the integration among state institutions and working to achieve Oman Vision 2040.
The meeting discussed the National Program for Private Sector and Foreign Trade Development “ Nazdaher”, which is part of the national programs in the economy and development axis of “Oman Vision 2040”. This program seeks to intensify national efforts to attract investments, create a stimulating environment for investment and develop Omani exports in the 10th five-year plan (2021-2025).
The Council’s members presented a set of observations and inquiries, which focused on the need to work hard to increase the contribution of industry, trade and investment to the GDP.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary for Commerce and Industry, Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary for Investment Promotion and Pankaj Khimji, Advisor for Foreign Trade and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. -ONA
