Muscat: Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion received here today Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The meeting reviewed means of enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade and investment fields. It stressed the importance of activating the role of Oman-Egypt Businessmen Council to be a main platform for boosting economic ties.
The two ministers also discussed ways to develop trade exchange between the two countries by diversifying the exported and imported products in a manner that opens wider horizons for various economic sectors.
They also touched on means of enhancing joint investments and encouraging private sector establishments in both countries to explore promising investment opportunities.
The meeting underlined the importance of laying emphasis on promoting integration in logistics, including the development of sea lanes between the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab Republic of Egypt, along with offering incentives and facilities.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saleh Said Masan, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Commerce and Industry, Khalid Mohammed Abdul Halim Radi, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Sultanate of Oman, and several officials from both sides.
