Muscat: Muscat Governorate organised a grand celebration and maritime parade to mark the anniversary of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's accession to the throne.
The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, who signaled the start of the maritime parade. The parade commenced from Wilayat Muscat, passed through Wilayat Muttrah and Wilayat Bawshar, and concluded in Wilayat of Seeb.
Hanan bint Amer Al Khambashiya from the United Boats Company delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the event in fostering national pride and illustrating the unity between the people and the leadership. A visual presentation was also shown, outlining the parade route and accompanying activities.
Ibrahim bin Said Al Hasani, Director of Communication and Media Department at Muscat Governorate, stated in an interview with Oman News Agency that the parade, organized in cooperation with the United Boats Company, aimed to showcase Muscat's tourist attractions and natural landscapes, including its serene coasts, mountainous terrain, and urban development.
He mentioned that approximately 400 participants took part in the maritime parade, with around 69 boats, yachts, and jet skis involved.
The 40-kilometer-long parade featured traditional folk arts, national songs, and the raising of the Omani flag and pictures of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. Additionally, there were demonstrations of wakeboarding and flyboarding, adding to the vibrant celebration.
