Ministry of Higher Education to host Omani-Turkish Knowledge Dialogue

Muscat: As part of its efforts to enhance cultural and knowledge cooperation with friendly countries, the Ministry of Higher Educational, Research and Innovation will host the Omani-Turkish Knowledge Dialogue, from January 20 to 22, 2025, in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy in Muscat and the Atatürk Supreme Institution of Culture, Language and History in the Republic of Turkey.

The event will be hosted by the International College of Engineering and Management.

In this context, Dr. Maryam bint Bal'arab Al-Nabhaniyah, the Director General of Private Universities and Colleges, emphasised the importance of this event in strengthening the partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Turkey in the fields of education, scientific research, technology, and culture.

She highlighted its anticipated role in twinning higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman with their counterparts in the Republic of Turkey, enhancing scientific research between these institutions through joint research programs and researcher exchange, boosting student and academic exchange between them, encouraging the establishment of research and development centres.

It will promote the study of the Arabic language in the Sultanate of Oman, and enhance joint investment in education, scientific research, and innovation, which would support the position of the Sultanate of Oman in global indicators, she added.

She added: This event brings together a group of academics, researchers, and decision-makers from both countries to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and exchange knowledge and experiences.

 The forum will include several discussion sessions in the humanities and natural sciences according to national priorities, considering the goals of Oman Vision 2040, with the participation of 17 Turkish universities, in addition to several Turkish research and cultural centers, all private higher education institutions, and a number of Omani government educational institutions.
