Abu Dhabi: Represented by the Ministry of Finance, the Sultanate of Oman is taking part in the 10th Annual Meeting of Arab Finance Undersecretaries.
The 2-day meeting began on Monday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the participation of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development).
The meeting deals with the challenges posed to means of supporting energy in the Arab region. It will assess the impact of financial policies on growth and study Arab trends in managing public debt and addressing public finance risks. It will also look into the extent to which “efforts to boost renewable energy development” reflect on energy security.
The Ministry of Finance outlined the Sultanate of Oman’s experience in revising energy support and encouraging investment in renewable energy projects in line with Oman Vision 2040’s priority of economic diversification.
The meetings will also explore the experiences of Arab countries in digital transition in the field of public finance, as well as the application of environmental, social and governance standards in public institutions.
This meeting is being held in preparation for the 16th regular session of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers.
