Muscat: The Architecture Revival Initiative, organised by the Office of His Highness Sayyid Bilarab bin Haitham Al Said, will kick off on Wednesday and run until February 22 at the Oman Across Ages Museum in the Wilayat of Manah.
The Architecture Revival Initiative comes as a continuation of the journey of the first and second cycles of the Bilarab bin Haitham Award for Architectural Design, and the competition to design the Sultanate of Oman Pavilion at Expo Japan 2025, and to enrich the architectural field in the Sultanate of Oman.
It aims to enrich the architectural field in Oman and targets various community segments interested in architectural design, including professionals, experts, and students studying this field.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the value of architecture as an integral part of national identity.
It encourages the community to explore Omani architecture and understand its cultural, social, and economic impact.
The initiative highlights innovation in architecture by showcasing the methods used by Omanis throughout different eras, advanced design and construction techniques, and encouraging their use to enhance architectural heritage.
It also aims to engage various community segments in discussions and debates about architecture, provide a supportive environment for creativity and entrepreneurship, and enhance opportunities for architectural professionals in the Omani job market.
Over three days, the initiative will discuss three main pillars aimed at serving and reviving the architectural field in Oman: continuous education, innovation, and market readiness.
Those interested in architectural design will have the opportunity to attend and benefit from the initiative's activities.
