My personal reflections on news and cricket

Fifty years is a remarkable milestone, and as I reflect on the journey of Times of Oman, I am reminded of my own deep and personal connection with this publication. My relationship with Times of Oman began in 1975 when I was just an 11-year-old boy, eagerly awaiting each weekly edition.

Back then, the newspaper was more than just a source of news - it was a gateway to the world, shaping my understanding of global events and even helping me plan my Friday television schedule.

The transition to a daily publication was a game-changer. It meant waking up each morning to a fresh dose of news, insightful analysis, and engaging stories - a habit that has remained with me ever since.

Times of Oman became a constant companion, keeping me informed through the years as Oman evolved and grew on the global stage. Beyond its role in journalism, Times of Oman  has played a vital part in championing
local sports, particularly cricket, which has been a lifelong passion of mine.

As the owner of two top-flight cricket teams in Oman, I have witnessed firsthand how the newspaper has celebrated our triumphs, recognised our efforts, and amplified the voice of the cricketing community.

The unwavering support from the Times of Oman  has been instrumental in bringing the stories of our cricketing endeavours to the forefront, fostering a deeper connection with the community and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

On this golden jubilee, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entireTimes of Oman team. Your dedication to delivering comprehensive news, credible journalism, fostering informed discussions, insightful business coverage, and in-depth sports reporting has enriched our lives and informed our perspectives, keeping the community engaged.

Here’s to many more decades of excellence, insightful storytelling, and lasting impact.

Wishing Times of Oman  continued success!
