HM the Sultan performs Eid Al Fitr Prayers at Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman today celebrated the blessed Eid Al-Fitr for the year 1446 AH.

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik offered Eid Al-Fitr prayers at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in the Wilayat of Bausher, Muscat Governorate.

Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, led the prayers. He began the Eid sermon by glorifying Allah the Almighty and praising Him for His blessings and bounties, followed by prayers upon the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

The sermon emphasized that the Almighty Allahcreated the universe with order, balance, and harmony in the laws of life, establishing rulings to ease the path for humanity. It called upon people to uphold righteousness and seek His mercy without negligence.

The sermon further clarified that extremism and rigidity turn life into an "iron cage," while negligence becomes a veil that fails to safeguard its essence. It also emphasized that building nations requires a delicate balance rooted in stability, the preservation of values, adherence to identity, and thoughtful planning—achieved through loyalty, belonging, and concerted effort to yield fruitful outcomes.

Following the prayers, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik accepted Eid greetings from the public on this joyous occasion. His Majesty reciprocated the greetings, extending sincere and blessed wishes to the well-wishers, and prayed to Allah the Almighty for the acceptance of their worship and the multiplication of their good deeds.

As His Majesty the Sultan departed from the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the Sultan of Oman's Artillery of the Royal Army of Oman fired a 21-gun salute in honour of His Majesty the Sultan.

After that, the motorcade of His Majesty the Sultan departed the mosque amid heartfelt prayers from his people, who supplicated for his well-being, the blessings of his reign, and the longevity of his service to the nation. They prayed for the return of many more such joyous occasions on His Majesty.

Along with His Majesty the Sultan, the Eid Al Fitr prayers were attended by some of their highnesses members of the Royal Family, Al Busaid dignitaries, ministers, advisors, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) and other military and security services, some members of the State Council and Shura Council, undersecretaries, walis, CEOs, sheikhs and citizens.
