Muscat: The Primary Court in Muscat has delivered a verdict against an Omani citizen who was found guilty of participating in a gathering, incitement, and broadcasting news and statements deemed to undermine the prestige of the state.
According to the Public Prosecution, the court sentenced Talal bin Ahmed bin Ali to one year's imprisonment and a fine of OMR 500 for the first charge. He received an additional one-year prison sentence for the second charge, with the longer sentence to be enforced.
The Public Prosecution stated that a comprehensive investigation was conducted, which substantiated the charges against the accused before the case was brought before the relevant court. The ruling also mandates that the defendant cover the legal expenses incurred.
