Muscat: The Ministry of Education on Wednesday organised the National Student Research Forum for the GLOBE Environmental Programme 2025.
The event saw the participation of over 60 male and female students, along with 30 programme teachers from various educational directorates under the ministry from Oman’s various governorates.
The forum aimed to showcase scientific research conducted by students from schools that qualified for the final stage at the national level.
These studies contribute to addressing and evaluating environmental issues through a specialised scientific judging committee, while also raising environmental awareness among students and teachers about the importance of environmental challenges and how to address them using modern scientific tools.
The forum seeks to motivate students to conduct scientific research in diverse environmental fields, such as climate change, water quality, and biodiversity protection, encouraging them to further develop their research projects and achieve more scientific accomplishments in the future.
During the event, the winning research projects in the competition were felicitated. This aims to promote environmental education in Omani schools and prepare youth to become leaders in environmental conservation and sustainable development.
