Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman on Monday joined the international community in celebrating World Creativity and Innovation Day, which falls on 21 April every year.
Oman’s participation in the event reflects its keenness to promote the culture of innovation across various state institutions, in line with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
A celebration to this effect was organised by the Ministry of Labour in Muscat Governorate under the auspices of Sayyid Salim Musallam Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Human Resources Development.
Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit announced the launch of two national initiatives: "National Competencies in Corporate Innovation" and "Certified Innovation Professional."
The initiatives seek to upgrade the capabilities of Omani cadres operating in the field of innovation, in addition to developing institutional capabilities to keep pace with future updates and enhance government competitiveness.
The ceremony included a visual presentation titled "Institutional Innovation and the Management of Change". The presentation featured the latest trends and practices to support innovation in government work environments.
The ceremony also included a dialogue session titled "Institutional Innovation: The Path to Sustainable Government Excellence". The session, which saw the particiaption of stakeholders and specialists, discussed ways to enhance institutional innovation and explored prospects for developing government performance.
The event is an opportunity to focus on the importance of investing in human capital and building an integrated national system that contributes to transforming ideas into sustainable solutions that serve the country's development goals.
The celebration was attended by government officials, specialists and parties interested in innovation and institutional development.
