Citizens arrested for illegal hunting in Dhofar

Muscat: The Environment Authority (EA), has arrested a number of citizens for hunting wild birds and monitor lizards in Dhofar Governorate. 

According to EA, East Thumrait Control Unit specialists, in coordination with the Royal Oman Police, were able to arrest a number of citizens for violating the Natural Reserves and Wildlife Conservation Law. The violations involved hunting wild birds and monitor lizards.

The Authority affirms that it will not tolerate any complacency in taking legal action against violators, based on its commitment to protecting wildlife and preserving the natural environment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
