Muscat: The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Modern College of Business and Science, today celebrated the graduation of the first batch of students from the Vocational and Technical Education Track in Business Administration and Information Technology for the academic year 2024/2025.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Madiha Ahmed Al Shibani, Minister of Education.
Dr. Abdullah Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to implementing vocational and technical education, which was introduced in the 2023/2024 academic year. He described it as a strategic choice that responds to the requirements of sustainable national development and effectively contributes to building national capabilities by equipping youth with the practical and specialized skills demanded by the contemporary job market.
He explained that this track not only prepares students for the job market but also fosters a culture of work and self-reliance, opening broader horizons for Omani youth to innovate and lead in dynamic productive fields aligned with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
On his turn, Mousa Abdullah Al Kindi, Dean of the Modern College of Business and Science, noted that the graduation of 138 highly competent students embodies a comprehensive national strategy and ambitious vision for Oman, which places technical and vocational education at the forefront of its priorities and invests in building the capacities of youth as a cornerstone for shaping the nation’s future.
The ceremony included a visual presentation showcasing the journey of the BTEC program.
