Passenger traffic at Salalah Airport increases by 5.2% .

Muscat : The total number of passengers travelling through Oman's airports by the end of July 2025 reached approximately 8,366,273 passengers, a 1.3 percent decrease compared to the same period last year, which saw 8,478,607 passengers.

Preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that Muscat International Airport received 7,453,204 passengers by the end of last July, compared to 7,569,755 passengers during the same period in 2024, a decrease of 1.5 percent.

The number of flights through the same airport also declined by 5.9 percent, reaching 53,170 flights, compared to 56,498 flights during the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers travelling through Salalah Airport increased by 5.2 percent to 870,616 passengers by the end of July 2025, compared to 827,486 passengers during the same period in 2024.

The number of flights also increased by 1.4 percent, reaching 5,881 flights, compared to 5,801 flights by the end of July 2024.

Sohar Airport witnessed a decline in air traffic, with the number of passengers declining by 85.3 percent by the end of July, to 6,831 passengers, compared to 46,578 passengers during the same period last year.

The number of flights also decreased, reaching 130 flights, compared to 384 flights by the end of July 2024.

Duqm Airport recorded a balanced performance. The number of passengers increased by 2.4 percent to 35,622 by the end of July 2025, compared to 34,788 by the end of July 2024.

Meanwhile, the number of flights decreased slightly by 0.6 percent, recording 360 flights by the end of July 2025, compared to 362 flights during the same period last year.

Statistics indicated that Omanis topped the list of passengers arriving and departing through Muscat International Airport during July 2025, with a total of 210,239 passengers (96,858 passengers arriving and 113,381 departing).

This was followed by Indian nationals with a total of 186,402 passengers (108,270 arriving and 78,132 departing), then Pakistani nationals with a total of 47,777 passengers (20,411 arriving passengers and 27,366 departing).
