Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) will hold a ceremony Tuesday morning to sign Olympic scholarship agreements for 10 Omani athletes. The initiative comes as part of the preparation and training programs for participation in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles, USA, in 2028.
The ceremony will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Azzan bin Qais Al Said, OOC President. It reflects OOC efforts to enhance the opportunities of Omani athletes in reaching the required competitive levels, benefiting from the ongoing cooperation with the Olympic Solidarity Program of the International Olympic Committee. This program provides both technical and financial support to improve training environments and raise the performance of athletes across the world.
OOC has successfully secured ten full scholarships from the program—exceeding the usual allocation for National Olympic Committees with smaller delegations. This achievement represents recognition of the OOC substantial efforts in preparing a comprehensive application and its continuous coordination with relevant international bodies, which enabled it to increase the number of seats granted to Oman.
