Sohar: The Municipal Council of North Al Batinah Governorate discussed a proposal to launch a national initiative to empower youth in the professional labour market, considering it a pivotal step to support the ambitions of young people and provide sustainable job opportunities in vocational sectors.
During its meeting held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Mohammed Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Al Batinah, the Council also reviewed a number of responses received from relevant government entities. Furthermore, it examined the results of the Social Affairs Committee meeting regarding the issue of rising marriage costs.
The Council hosted specialists from the Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in the governorate to discuss the issue of cleaning farms of mesquite trees and agricultural waste.
The Council also reviewed a letter from the Ministry of Education concerning the registration of new students for the first grade for the academic year 2026/2027, emphasising the Council's important role in urging parents to adhere to the specified registration deadlines.
