Jordan evacuates over 130 nationals, including Omani citizens, from 'Global Resilience Fleet'

Muscat: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan announced the successful arrival of 131 individuals who were on board the Global Resilience Fleet to Jordan. The group, which included one Jordanian citizen and 130 nationals from numerous other countries, entered the Kingdom's territory via the King Hussein Bridge. The operation was managed in cooperation with relevant Jordanian authorities, ensuring their safe passage and necessary assistance.

Fouad Al-Majali, the ministry’s official spokesperson, confirmed the comprehensive nature of the evacuation. The 130 non-Jordanian individuals hailed from a wide array of nations, including Gulf and Arab states such as the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Tunisia, the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Kuwait, and the State of Libya.

The group also included nationals from several friendly countries across the globe: the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Argentina, Australia, the Federal Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Colombia, the Czech Republic, Japan, the United Mexican States, New Zealand, the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of South Africa, the Swiss Confederation, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.

Logistics and International Cooperation

Al-Majali highlighted Jordan’s role in facilitating the process, stating that the Ministry, in collaboration with the pertinent Jordanian authorities, not only facilitated the passage of all 131 individuals but also provided them with required assistance upon arrival. Furthermore, the Ministry clarified that coordination was established with the embassies of the brotherly and friendly countries to effectively organize and facilitate the subsequent departure of their nationals from Jordanian territory.

Update on Detained Jordanian Citizens

The spokesperson also provided an update regarding three Jordanian citizens who had been detained on board the fleet. He noted that the acting chargé d’affaires of the Jordanian Embassy in Tel Aviv visited the three citizens last Friday to check on their well-being. Al-Majali added that two of the three detained Jordanians have since been released and departed by air via Turkey.
