Muscat: In a swift and coordinated rescue operation, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) Air Wing successfully carried out a medical evacuation of a citizen who sustained a foot injury while hiking in the mountainous region of Imti, located in the Wilayat of Izki, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.
The incident occurred during a mountain trekking activity, when the individual was unable to continue due to the severity of the injury.
Responding promptly, the ROP dispatched an air unit to the remote location, where the injured hiker was stabilised and airlifted to Nizwa Hospital for urgent medical care.
Authorities praised the efficiency of the rescue team and emphasized the importance of safety precautions when engaging in outdoor sports and mountain activities.
The operation highlights the ROP’s ongoing commitment to public safety and its readiness to respond to emergencies in challenging terrain.
