Muscat: Advancing Oman's strategic vision toward a knowledge-based economy, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation, in partnership with the Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS), will host the First National Forum for Peer-Reviewed Scientific Journals on 29–30 October 2025 at the Ministry's headquarters.
This landmark forum establishes a national platform uniting academics, researchers, and scholarly publishing experts to explore cutting-edge practices in journal management and development. The event underscores the critical role peer-reviewed journals play in upholding academic integrity, elevating research quality, and strengthening universities' positions in global rankings.
Participants will discover leading national journals across diverse disciplines and their contributions to Oman's research landscape. The forum will examine internationally recognized metrics including impact factors and citation indices, and address the strategic importance of indexing Omani journals in major global databases. Attendees will also learn from successful regional and Arab publishing models, facilitating collaboration among editorial boards and researchers to advance academic integration and align with international research standards.
The comprehensive program features expert presentations, interactive panel discussions, and specialized workshops on journal management and quality assurance.
