Madayn signs agreement to establish construction materials complex in Mahas Industrial City

Khasab: Mahas Industrial City in the Wilayat of Khasab, under the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates "Madayn," has executed an investment agreement with Musandam Global Investment to develop the Mahas Construction Materials Complex. The project will occupy 106,827 square meters with a total investment commitment of RO 4 million.

The signing ceremony was held under the patronage of Sayyid Ibrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Governor of Musandam.

Mubarak bin Salim Al Ghailani, Acting Director General of Mahas Industrial City, emphasized that the complex represents a strategic initiative that will capitalize on the industrial city's premium location and advanced services in Khasab. The facility will supply construction and development projects throughout Musandam Governorate with specialized, high-quality building materials while generating substantial employment opportunities for Omani nationals.

He detailed that the project's operational components will include dedicated facilities for basic building materials production, ready-mix concrete manufacturing, precast concrete molds, asphalt production, and specialized high-quality brick manufacturing, alongside additional production units.

In his statement to the Oman News Agency (ONA), Al Ghailani further indicated that the complex is positioned to become a key supplier for various development initiatives across the governorate, encompassing industrial, real estate, tourism, and transportation sectors.

This development follows Madayn's recent completion of comprehensive road and infrastructure works within Mahas Industrial City, covering 1.5 million square meters. These completed works feature a modern 7-kilometer road network built to international standards, complemented by pedestrian walkways, multiple parking facilities, and sustainable solar-powered lighting infrastructure. The development also includes a 2,000-cubic-meter main water reservoir with advanced pumping systems, a 500-cubic-meter sewage treatment plant, a security gatehouse at the city's entrance, fully integrated road, water and sewage networks, a 70-meter main bridge, and a 3-kilometer protective channel along the Wadi Mahas course.

Concurrently, construction continues on the Madayn Pioneers Complex, designed specifically to support entrepreneurs and small to medium enterprises (SMEs). This complementary project will occupy 10,000 square meters and house ten ready-built factories, each occupying 500 square meters with expansion capabilities. The complex will provide external parking areas and a fully serviced administrative gateway to facilitate immediate operational commencement.

Mahas Industrial City stands as the largest and most significant industrial hub in northern Oman, located strategically in the Wilayat of Khasab within Musandam Governorate. Its unique geographical position overlooking the Strait of Hormuz provides substantial economic advantages, supporting the foundation and growth of diverse economic projects spanning industrial, logistical, and tourism sectors.
