Muscat: Guided by the Oman Vision 2040, the health sector in Oman is witnessing radical transformations towards a sustainable future, said Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health.
"Today, we stand on the threshold of a new phase, reviewing the achievements of our health sector over the past five years. The priority of health has never been merely about reports filled with numbers; it has always been, and remains, a story that touches all our hearts, telling us that Oman Vision 2040 is the compass that has guided all our efforts," the minister said.
"During this period, the health sector witnessed qualitative transformations and exceptional achievements. Our country's health system proved its high efficiency after the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world. The journey of building and development continued, encompassing the construction of many leading hospitals, the expansion of infrastructure, the training of healthcare personnel, and the localization of many advanced health services such as organ transplantation," he affirmed.
He said that to reduce waiting lists for health appointments, many initiatives were included, and in a race against time, artificial intelligence and all modern technologies were employed to serve patients and improve the quality of health services provided to the community
The minister said that to achieve pharmaceutical security and ensure a sustainable, healthy future, we worked hand in hand to enhance the readiness of the health sector, intensify investment in local pharmaceutical and medical industries, and secure strategic reserves.
These achievements would not have seen the light of day without a unified national will and an effective community partnership, he said ,adding "Every initiative and every step forward is an investment in the future of our generations, and an affirmation that health is everyone's responsibility. Let us move forward, inspired by our ambitious vision of a leading health sector with global standards."
