
Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman's national esports team secured a historic achievement, winning the bronze medal in the popular "Rocket League" competition at the third edition of the Asian Youth Games.
The tournament was hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 22 to 31. This podium finish marks the team’s first-ever medal in "Rocket League" at the Asian Youth Games.
The national team demonstrated strong performance and exceptional team spirit throughout the tournament. Their success culminated in a convincing 3–0 victory over Bahrain in the crucial third-place playoff match.
The Omani squad earned their spot in the medal rounds by delivering a series of impressive results in the preliminary rounds, including victories over:
Indonesia (2–0)
Kazakhstan (2–0)
Kyrgyzstan (2–0)
UAE (2–0)
Bahrain (2–1)
Their only preliminary loss came against Jordan (1–2). The team reached the semi-finals but fell to eventual finalists Saudi Arabia with a score of 0–3, setting the stage for their bronze medal face-off against the host nation.
