Activities held across North Al Batinah to celebrate Omani Agriculture Day

Muscat: The General Directorate of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Water Resources in North Al Batinah Governorate organized a series of events across several wilayats to mark Omani Agriculture Day.

In the Wilayat of Saham, a special event was held at the local office of the Directorate, featuring educational segments aimed at raising awareness about the importance of sustainable agriculture and its role in achieving food security and development. The program also emphasized the need to preserve natural resources such as soil and water, promote eco-friendly farming practices, and protect biodiversity.

The event also included the opening of an accompanying exhibition, which featured 12 booths representing various government entities and private companies active in the agricultural sector.

Activities will continue on Sunday and in the coming days across the wilayats of Al Suwaiq, Liwa, Al Khaboura, Sohar, and Shinas. These events will include a variety of programs designed to spread agricultural awareness among different segments of society.

These celebrations are part of the annual observance of Omani Agriculture Day, held on October 31 each year. The occasion aims to enhance public awareness of the importance of agriculture, expand knowledge on planting and caring for trees, crops, and plants, and encourage community participation in all forms of agricultural activity.
