Muscat: The Royal Oman Police has issued a decision to amend certain provisions of the executive regulations of the Civil Status Law.
According to the decision, the personal identification card will be valid for 10 years, and the residence card will be valid for a maximum of 10 years, subject to the categories and controls determined by the Director General.
The decision also outlines the fees for issuing, renewing, and replacing cards and certificates. The fees are as follows:
- Personal Identification Card:
- Issuance and renewal: OMR10 (valid for 10 years)
- Replacement for lost or damaged card: OMR5
- Residence Card:
- Issuance and renewal: OMR5 per year (valid for a maximum of 10 years)
- Replacement for lost or damaged card: OMR20
Cardholders are required to renew their cards within 30 days of expiration.
