Shura Council participates in Parliamentary Coordination Committee meeting in Bahrain

Manama: A delegation from the Shura Council participated today in the 22nd meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee, with the attendance of representatives from the legislative councils of the GCC states in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting addressed joint Gulf issues, enhancing means of cooperation between the legislative councils of the GCC States and the European Parliament, and developing strategies to increase the momentum of Gulf parliamentary cooperation with various parliaments worldwide. Furthermore, they discussed the draft agenda and final statement for the 19th periodic meeting of the Speakers and Chairmen of the Shura, Representatives, National, and National Assembly Councils of the GCC States.

The Shura Council delegation participating in the meetings comprised Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Nadabi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council and the following council members: Khamis bin Hamdan Al Ghafri, Sultan bin Humaid Al Hoasni, Dr. Talal bin Said Al Mahraibi, Abdulaziz bin Hamdan Al Balushi and Ali bin Muslim Ghawas.

It is worth noting that this periodic meeting, held by the GCC legislative councils at the level of their heads, comes within the framework of these councils' endeavor to support the process of joint Gulf parliamentary work, and to strengthen avenues of cooperation and coordination among the GCC legislative councils. This contributes to unifying positions and visions regarding Gulf, Arab, and international issues, and supports efforts for integration and legislative development in the member states.
