Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has issued a supreme pardon for 247 prison inmates convicted in various cases.
The pardon comes from His Majesty the Supreme Commander coinciding with the occasion of the glorious National Day, and taking into account the families of these prisoners.
The royal pardon grants freedom to 247 inmates, a group comprising both citizens and foreigners who were convicted in various cases. This generous gesture is rooted in consideration for the social and psychological well-being of the inmates and, importantly, a deep concern for their families.
