
Muscat: In conjunction with Oman’s 55th National Day celebrations, the General Secretariat for National Celebrations has finalised the schedule for inaugurating a series of major development projects across the Sultanate. These initiatives reflect the country’s ongoing progress under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
The total investment in these projects amounts to approximately OMR1.41 billion, spanning key sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, economy, and food security.
Key Infrastructure and Economic Projects
- Polysilicon Plant in Sohar Free Zone – OMR 615 million
- Al-Ghaith Chemical Industries Factory – OMR 25 million
- Sugar Refinery at Sohar Port – OMR 141.5 million
- Industrial Bakery in Khazaen Economic City (South Al Batinah) – OMR 25 million
- Development of Dibba Fishing Port – OMR 39 million
- Animal and Fish Feed Factory in Khazaen – OMR 36 million
- OQ Group Projects across Oman – OMR 38.5 million
Road and Water Infrastructure
- Dualization of Southern National Road (Al Wusta Governorate) – OMR 23.5 million
- National Road 23 toward Ras Madrakah – OMR 59.3 million
- Nama Water Services Projects – OMR 408 million, including:
- Water transmission enhancement (Phase 2) in Al Dakhiliyah – OMR 128.1 million
- Transmission upgrades in North and South Al Batinah – OMR 86 million
- Phase 1 water network in North Al Sharqiyah – OMR 65.5 million
- Transmission upgrades in South and North Al Sharqiyah – OMR 128.4 million
These projects aim to boost water transmission efficiency, improve service quality, and expand coverage across Oman’s governorates.
Healthcare and Community Development
- Suwaiq Referral Hospital (North Al Batinah) – OMR 78.5 million
- Central Public Health Laboratory – OMR 30 million
- Khasab Referral Hospital (Musandam Governorate) – OMR 65.9 million
The inauguration of these healthcare facilities is part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical services nationwide.
The General Secretariat emphasised that all projects have been coordinated with relevant government entities to ensure readiness and smooth execution. These initiatives symbolize Oman’s commitment to sustainable development and national prosperity.
