
Izki: The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) celebrated today the graduation of several batches of officers. These included the Candidate Officers Course, the Specialized University Officers Course, the Conversion Course for Medical and Allied Medical Professions Occupants, and the Limited Service Officers Course.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of HH Sayyid Taimur bin Asa'ad Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).
The graduates presented a varied military show that embodied the skills of its personnel, highlighting the great attention and Royal care bestowed upon the Royal Army of Oman by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander.
The celebration began with a military salute to the chief guest of the occasion. Following this, the parade commander requested permission from chief guest of the occasion, to inspect the front row of the graduates' parade. The graduates then presented a military display with a military march passing the main dais of the celebration ground, led by the banner of Sultan Qaboos Military College. The parade then advanced in review formation.
Afterward, HH Sayyid Taimur bin Asa'ad Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman presented the Sword of Honour to Lieutenant Al Muhallab bin Rashid Al Subhi of the Royal Army of Oman, who achieved first place at the level of the Candidate Officers Course. This was followed by the handover ceremony of the Sultan Qaboos Military College banner, where the banner bearers of the graduating Candidate Officers Course handed the banner over to the banner bearers of the current course, whose personnel swore to protect it and keep it flying high. The National Anthem was then played, and the banner bearers paraded the banner among the ranks of their course.
The ceremony included performances by the Royal Army of Oman Music Band, presenting various musical pieces and a military musical show featuring numerous formations that embodied the high capabilities and skills enjoyed by the band's personnel.
The graduates chanted the Royal Army of Oman anthem, took the oath of allegiance, delivered the call of endorsement, and cheered three times for the life of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander. The graduates' parade then performed the military salute, the Royal Salute music was played, and the parade commander requested permission from the chief guest to depart. The graduates marched past the main dais, rendering the military salute to chief guest of the celebration.
It is noteworthy that the graduating courses included a number of graduates from the Sultan's Armed Forces and other military and security agencies, and graduates from the Kingdom of Bahrain.
