Lebanese President: Lebanon, Oman seek to develop relations in all fields

Muscat: President General Joseph Aoun of the Lebanese Republic, affirmed that his visit to the Sultanate of Oman and his meeting with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik will elevate the level of relations between the two countries to wider horizons of economic and investment cooperation, preparing investments and facilitating commercial exchange.

He also affirmed, in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), the depth of the historical Omani-Lebanese relations and the two countries' endeavor to move forward in developing these relations in various fields in a way that benefits both countries and their peoples.

He clarified that the Sultanate of Oman and the Lebanese Republic look forward to achieving a strategic partnership built on common interests, primarily enhancing partnerships in the sectors of trade and retail, construction, manufacturing, transport, food services, Artificial Intelligence, education, agriculture, services, and healthcare, and activating transit between the two countries.

This is evidenced by the figures recently recorded: the volume of trade exchange between the Sultanate of Oman and the Lebanese Republic rose by 29.4 percent during the first half of 2025, and the number of Lebanese companies registered in the Sultanate of Oman reached more than 1,035 companies by September 2025. The Lebanese President underscored the importance of activating bilateral agreements in the commercial, agricultural, health, and cultural fields.

He praised the Sultanate of Oman's acclaimed diplomatic role, affirming that the Lebanese Republic values the pioneering role based on the balanced policy that stands at an equal distance from all parties, which enabled it to undertake pivotal mediations to resolve conflicts and tension in the region. He added that his country is keen to restore relations with Arab countries, including enhancing communication with the GCC states.

The President of the Lebanese Republic said that his country is working to prioritize the language of dialogue. He explained that he launched a call to reject wars and initiate dialogue and negotiation as a solution to outstanding issues, expressing his hope for opening a new page in the region based on just and comprehensive peace, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative adopted in Beirut in 2002.
