
Muscat: The Kingdom of Bahrain will celebrate tomorrow its 54th National Day and the 26th anniversary of King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain assuming the reins of power, which falls on 16 December of every year.
The Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates this national occasion while witnessing pioneering developmental achievements and a comprehensive modern renaissance under the leadership of King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa.
Omani-Bahraini relations are witnessing continuous development in various fields, based on a shared historical legacy and a wise leadership vision that strengthens paths of cooperation and integration between the two countries.
Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman, told Oman News Agency (ONA) that the outstanding achievements realized in the comprehensive development journey are considered a milestone in Bahrain's ancient civilization history and an exceptional model for growth and development, achieving economic growth, financial stability, and sustainable development.
He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain's celebration of its National Day embodies an occasion to express loyalty, fidelity, and gratitude to the wise leadership, pride in the achievements of the comprehensive development journey, and the continuation of the march towards further prosperity and stability.
The Ambassador affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain continues its balanced approach in its foreign policy, based on clear foundations of cooperation and moderation, consolidating the values of dialogue and human coexistence, enhancing international cooperation, and spreading sustainable peace. This is alongside continuing efforts to achieve sustainable development, enhance the protection of human rights and freedoms, and preserve the environment, due to the influential role this has in cementing the Kingdom of Bahrain's standing on the international level.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman praised the Kingdom's achievements during 2025, which included diverse fields, most notably economic growth, where the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 2.5%. This is in addition to progress in the education sector through hosting the UNESCO award and rehabilitating technology-incubating schools, as well as achieving successes in the fields of energy, logistics, and sustainable development.
The ambassador noted that the Kingdom of Bahrain achieved an advanced milestone in the Communications and Technology Index for 2025, scoring 97.5 points, which qualified it for the fifth rank on the level of Arab countries. This index is considered one of the most prominent international indicators that measures the development of countries in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain is moving steadily towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through adopting flexible and integrated policies, strengthening strategic partnerships between the public and private sectors, and investing in human capital, thereby contributing to accelerating the pace of achieving those goals.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman described the Omani-Bahraini relations as historical relations rooted in antiquity. History attests to the strength of these relations since the civilizations of Dilmun and Magan, which will remain witnesses to the sophistication and greatness of the relations between the two countries.
The bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman, the ambassador stressed, are based on solid foundations and principles, framed by close, firm, and extended fraternal and historical bonds, deeply rooted in history. These relations have developed to encompass various political, economic, social, and cultural aspects, and are witnessing growth and prosperity in various developmental fields, thanks to the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Furthermore, he clarified that the economic and commercial relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman are witnessing remarkable development. The volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeded $1.4 billion. Bahraini investment in the Sultanate of Oman also increased, reaching nearly $1.250 billion. The number of Bahraini companies registered in the Sultanate of Oman reached 876 ompanies operating in various fields, while the number of investment licenses granted to Bahraini citizens reached 1,200 licenses.
The number of partnerships between entrepreneurs in the two countries reached 550 partnerships, while the number of Bahraini investors who own shares in companies listed on the Muscat Stock Exchange reached about 700 investors, the ambassador pointed out.
Dr. Juma bin Ahmed Al Kaabi expressed his hope that the next phase will witness further development and prosperity in various developmental fields.
