More than 12 million passengers travel through Oman's airports by end of October 2025

Muscat: Passenger traffic through the airports of the Sultanate of Oman recorded a growth of 1.6 percent by the end of October 2025, reaching 12,353,007 passengers, compared to 12,153,212 passengers during the same period in 2024.

Preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that Muscat International Airport handled 10,833,646 passengers by the end of October 2025, marking an increase of 1.1 percent compared to 10,714,055 passengers in the same period last year. However, the number of flights declined by 4.7 percent, totaling 76,880 flights, down from 80,636 flights in 2024.

Salalah Airport witnessed notable growth, with passenger numbers rising by 9.7 percent to 1,450,140 passengers, compared to 1,321,622 passengers in the same period of 2024. The number of flights also increased by 6.1 percent, reaching 9,438 flights, up from 8,894 flights.

In contrast, Sohar Airport experienced a significant decline in activity, as passenger traffic dropped by 72.3 percent to 18,557 passengers, compared to 66,879 passengers last year. Flights through the airport also fell by 62.4 percent, totaling 218 flights, down from 580 flights in 2024.

Meanwhile, Duqm Airport maintained stable performance, with passenger numbers reaching 50,664, nearly unchanged from 50,656 passengers during the same period last year. The number of flights slightly decreased by 1.5 percent to 512 flights, compared to 520 flights previously.

The statistics further revealed that Indian nationals ranked first among the most active passengers through Muscat International Airport in October 2025, with 170,313 passengers, including 85,669 arrivals and 84,644 departures. Omani nationals came second with 112,834 passengers, followed by Bangladeshi nationals with 43,509 passengers.
