Oman registers record passenger growth by end of November 2025

Muscat: Air traffic in the Sultanate of Oman recorded growth in passenger numbers by the end of November 2025, with an increase in travelers through Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport compared to the same period in 2024, despite a slight decline in the total number of flights.

Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that the number of passengers through Muscat International Airport rose by 1.8 percent to reach 11,939,458 passengers by the end of November 2025, compared to 11,731,430 passengers during the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, the total number of international and domestic flights decreased by 4.1 percent to 84,296 flights, compared to 87,911 flights a year earlier.

According to the data, the number of international flights through Muscat International Airport reached 75,460 flights, marking a 5.2 percent decrease, while the number of passengers on these flights increased by 0.7 percent to 10,718,898 passengers.

In contrast, domestic flights recorded an increase of 6.7 percent, reaching 8,836 flights, with passenger numbers rising by 12.5 percent to approximately 1,220,560 passengers.

At Salalah Airport, the number of passengers increased by 10 percent to reach 1,574,296 passengers by the end of November 2025, compared to 1,431,756 passengers during the same period in 2024. The total number of flights also rose by 5.9 percent, reaching 10,237 flights, compared to 9,667 flights in 2024.

The data further showed that international flights through Salalah Airport amounted to 4,489 flights, a decrease of 2.6 percent, with 622,198 passengers, reflecting a slight decline of 0.7 percent. Meanwhile, domestic flights through Salalah Airport recorded notable growth, reaching 5,748 flights, accompanied by an increase in passenger numbers.

These indicators highlight the continued recovery and growth in domestic air travel, alongside stable international passenger demand in the Sultanate of Oman.
