Over OMR319 million projects coming up in Al Dakhiliyah

Nizwa: The Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah is witnessing the implementation of public service projects in the electricity, water and sanitation sectors to the tune of more than OMR319 million.

The projects are part of efforts undertaken by Nama Group subsidiaries to enhance the efficiency of infrastructure and improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents across the governorate’s wilayats.

The initiative aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to realize developmental sustainability and enhance the readiness of vital services.

Eng. Yousef Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Head of Technical Affairs at Nama Electricity Distribution Company, told the Oman News Agency (ONA) that projects carried out by Nama Electricity Distribution Company in different wilayats of the governorate include upgrading Adam 33 kV substation and the construction of two new substations in Birkat Al Mauz and in Samail Industrial Area at a cost exceeding OMR5.1 million.

The Birkat Al Mouj substation was commissioned before last summer, while the remaining two substations (Birkat Al Mauz and in Samail Industrial Area) are expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2026, Al Mahrouqi explained.
