Jabal Akhdar records 9.1% rise in visitors during 2025

Jabal Akhdar: The Wilayat of Jabal Akhdar in the Governorate of Al Dakhiliyah recorded a total of 222,151 visitors during the period from January to December 2025, marking an increase of 9.1 percent compared to 203,629 visitors during the same period in 2024, according to statistics issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.

The data revealed that the number of Omani visitors to Jabal  Akhdar reached 82,142, while Saudi visitors numbered 14,957. Visitors from the United Arab Emirates totaled 1,588, Bahrainis numbered 699, Kuwaitis reached 1,441, and Qatari visitors were 779.

Visitors from other Arab nationalities amounted to 9,902, while foreign nationalities constituted the largest share, with 110,643 visitors recorded.

Jabal Akhdar is considered one of Oman’s most prominent tourist destinations, thanks to its mild summer climate and cold winter weather. The availability of numerous hotels, rest houses, and tourist lodges, along with a variety of cultural and recreational events, has contributed to attracting visitors throughout the year.

The region is also recognized as a key area for eco-tourism and adventure tourism, offering activities such as valley trekking, cave exploration, and mountain climbing. Visitors also have the opportunity to experience local village culture, enhancing the destination’s appeal as a comprehensive tourist hub.
