Muscat: An Indian expatriate residing in the Sultanate of Oman has won Dh20 million in Big Ticket’s second grand prize raffle of the year.
The winner, Shanthanu Shettigar, who works in the retail sector in Muscat, purchased the winning ticket bearing number 305810 on January 20. The draw was announced on the third day of the new month during Big Ticket’s live show.
During a phone call to inform him of the win, Shettigar expressed his disbelief, saying, “Oh my God, seriously? Thank you!” He also revealed that he has been participating in Big Ticket raffles since 2021.
Shettigar bought the winning ticket jointly with one friend, meaning the prize money will be shared equally, with Dh10 million going to each of them.
When asked about his future plans, Shettigar said he had not yet decided how he would use the prize money, while the show’s presenters encouraged him to take his time before making any decisions.
